Hong Kong Activist Agnes Chow Finds Refuge in Canada Amid National Security Case

Hong Kong opposition activist Agnes Chow Ting, a prominent figure in the pro-democracy movement, has revealed that she is living in Canada and has no plans to return to Hong Kong despite being required to report to the police as part of a national security investigation. Chow cited concerns for her personal safety, physical and mental health, and the situation in Hong Kong as reasons for her decision. She had been studying for her master's degree in Canada for three months and stated that she will likely never return to Hong Kong. Chow had previously been detained in 2020 but was granted bail and had her passport confiscated.
