Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has begun an international trade mission to Israel, Japan, South Korea, and the UK, with some allies seeing it as an effort to expand his foreign policy credentials ahead of his expected 2024 presidential campaign launch. While in Japan, DeSantis met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and held a roundtable with Japanese business leaders. He also went viral online after answering a question about potentially running against Donald Trump for the White House. DeSantis will continue his trip with other international stops and meetings with government and business leaders.
