Chinese citizens file lawsuit against Florida over housing ownership restrictions.

Chinese citizens living and working in Florida are suing the state over a new property law that restricts some people from China and a handful of other countries from purchasing homes and land in the state. The plaintiffs allege that the law is discriminatory and stokes racial biases against Chinese Americans. The law, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, is set to go into effect on July 1 and would be the first of its kind to be enacted into law. The ACLU is representing the plaintiffs and says the law would cast "an undue burden of suspicion" on anyone trying to buy a house as long as their "name sounds remotely Asian."
