China warns Europe as Taiwan's foreign minister visits.

China has warned Europe against having any official exchanges with Taiwan or supporting "independence forces" ahead of Taiwan Foreign Minister Joseph Wu's planned trip to the continent next week. Taiwan, which is claimed by China, has no formal diplomatic ties with any European country except the Vatican. Beijing views Taiwan as being part of "one China" and demands other countries recognise its sovereignty claims, which Taiwan's democratically-elected government rejects.
