Bobi Wine's Arrest and House Arrest in Uganda

Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine was violently arrested at Entebbe International Airport upon his return to Uganda, according to his party, the National Unity Platform. Wine, who lost to President Yoweri Museveni in the January 2021 presidential elections, claimed fraud and intimidation. He is currently under house arrest, with his party's headquarters also under siege. Wine has faced multiple arrests in the past, and his supporters had planned a procession outside the airport, which the police warned against.
