Typhoon Haikui Leaves Over 40 Injured in Taiwan

Typhoon Haikui made landfall in Taiwan, causing torrential downpours, strong winds, and power outages. More than 7,000 people were evacuated, hundreds of flights were canceled, and businesses closed in preparation for the storm. Over 40 people were injured, and more than 119,000 households lost power. The typhoon weakened as it moved across the island, but heavy rains and the potential for landslides remained a concern. The military was mobilized to assist in affected areas.
