Tragic Accident Claims American Soldier's Life in Germany

An American soldier assigned to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment was killed in Germany after a civilian semi-truck collided with the armored vehicle the soldier was traveling in. The incident occurred when the military vehicle merged onto Autobahn 93 near Tirschenreuth. The soldier was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. No other soldiers in the vehicle were injured. The soldier's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. This incident follows the recent deaths of three Marines found dead in a vehicle near Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
