Russia's Outdated Tanks and Drone Issues Lead to Massive Losses in Ukraine War

Russia has lost over 2,000 tanks in its war with Ukraine, with most of its replacement tanks being old models pulled out of storage and lightly refurbished. The latest museum-grade tank to be deployed is the T-72 Ural, which is only marginally better than a T-55 and inferior to many T-62 models. The tank's fire-control flaws, including outdated infrared spotlights and optical rangefinders, make it highly vulnerable on a modern battlefield. Expect more of these aged tanks to show up in tallies of vehicle losses as Ukrainian forces shift from defense to offense.
