"Canadian Government Workers Strike for Indigenous Rights and Anti-Racism Initiatives"

Over 155,000 Canadian public sector workers represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) have gone on strike after failed negotiations with the federal government for better pay and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. The strike, the largest against a single employer in Canadian history, is largely over wages, with PSAC demanding a 13.5% raise for workers. The union also listed other demands, including mandatory DEI training, anti-racism initiatives, and five days of annual paid leave for self-identified Indigenous employees to engage in traditional practices.
