The report also highlights the role of political actors in instigating and fueling online violence campaigns against women journalists. The violence takes a physical, psychological, and emotional toll on women journalists and threatens democracy itself. The report presents 28 recommendations, including making social media companies more accountable for combating online violence against women journalists. Support networks and creating safe spaces for women journalists to talk about their experiences are crucial for their recovery and resilience.
