Xi Jinping denounces murders of miners in CAR.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the severe punishment of those responsible for the killing of nine Chinese goldmine workers in the Central African Republic (CAR). Two Chinese workers were also injured in the attack, which took place near the town of Bambari. The local mayor blamed a rebel group for the killings, while the rebels accused Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group of being behind the attack. Both China and Russia have been investing heavily in Africa to tap into its mineral resources and rival the influence of Western powers.
