The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on three UAE-based entities and a Liberia-registered oil tanker for violating the price cap on Russian oil, as part of Western sanctions aimed at reducing Russia's ability to fund its war in Ukraine. The sanctions freeze any US assets of the targeted entities and generally bar Americans from dealing with them. Additionally, the US has taken steps to bar the import of certain categories of diamonds mined in Russia, further aiming to deprive Moscow of revenues.
