Israeli Strikes Target IRGC Officials in Syria

A member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and two others were killed in a suspected Israeli attack in the port city of Baniyas, Syria. The attack, which targeted a villa housing a group affiliated with Iran, resulted in three explosions and the destruction of a building. Israel has not commented on the strike, but its air force has been known to carry out numerous attacks on Iranian and Iranian-linked targets in Syria. The killing of Reza Zarei, who was in charge of Iranian oil shipments to Syria, reflects a shift in Israel's strategy to target high-value individuals to disrupt Iran's influence in Syria.
