Australia Streamlines Skilled Worker Entry through Immigration Overhaul

Australia plans to overhaul its immigration system to attract more skilled workers and make the visa process quicker and easier. The current points test will be modified to identify people with the correct skill sets the Australian economy needs. The government will also take steps to retain international students and allow temporary skilled visa holders to apply for permanent residency by the end of this year. The migrant wage threshold of temporary skilled workers will be raised to A$70,000 from A$53,900 to prevent the exploitation of migrant workers.
