"UN Appeals for $4.1 Billion to Alleviate Epic Suffering in War-Torn Sudan"

Thousands of people have fled the civil war in Sudan to Renk, South Sudan, with over 541,888 arrivals since April 2023. Conditions in Renk are dire, with severe overcrowding, insufficient sanitation, and rising cases of diseases and malnutrition. Aid agencies are struggling to meet the needs of exhausted families, including unaccompanied children and adolescent girls at risk of exploitation. Many refugees aim to reach Juba or Maban, where concerns about health services for new arrivals are growing. Relief International is providing medical and nutrition support, but more aid is urgently needed to cope with the increasing influx of refugees.
