Phoenix-like revival of Paul Newman's camp for sick children.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, founded by Paul Newman in 1988 for seriously ill children, was devastated by a fire in February 2021. However, the camp was not closed and money poured in from donors, including a combined gift of $1 million from the Travelers insurance company and the Newman's Own Foundation. The new $4.5 million, 11,000-square-foot creative complex opens on Tuesday, featuring a large mosaic that reads "Camp is Magic." The facility now has geothermal heating and cooling, a large emergency storm shelter, and huge cisterns. The rebuild will be used year-round for meetings and programming surrounding the camp's mission.
