"Musician Creates Album with Instruments Made from ISIS-destroyed Scraps"

Ameen Mokdad, a musician from Mosul, Iraq, persevered through ISIS occupation, composing an album in secret and creating a new instrument, "Adad," after his original instruments were destroyed. His music, born from ruin, carries a message of hope and resilience. After Mosul's liberation, Mokdad has traveled the U.S. performing and composing, and recently received a full scholarship to Wesleyan University's music department, eager to continue learning and sharing his passion for music and art.
