Double amputee Gurkha veteran makes history with Everest summit

TL;DR Summary
Hari Budha Magar, a Gurkha veteran who lost both legs in Afghanistan, has become the first double above-the-knee amputee to reach the summit of Mount Everest. He started the climb on 17 April, exactly 13 years since he lost his legs after an IED explosion. Despite facing freezing conditions and running out of oxygen, he reached the top of the world's tallest mountain on Friday. Budha Magar helped campaign to have the ban on double amputees and blind people climbing Everest removed.
