Man's 60-Pound Tumor Misdiagnosed as Obesity

A Norwegian man, Thomas Kraut, was misdiagnosed with obesity and prescribed Ozempic for 12 years before doctors discovered a 60-pound malignant tumor in his abdomen. Initially thought to be overweight, Kraut's condition was only correctly identified when a doctor preparing him for gastric sleeve surgery noticed the hard surface of his stomach. A CT scan revealed the tumor, leading to a 10-hour surgery for its removal. Despite the operation, Kraut still has cancerous tissue that cannot be removed. He and his wife have filed a lawsuit against the doctors for the misdiagnosis, although it was initially dismissed due to the tumor's rarity.
