Gaza's Disease Outbreak and Desperation Amid Israel's Merciless War

Infectious diseases such as diarrhoea, respiratory infections, skin rashes, scabies, lice, and chickenpox are spreading rapidly in Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli bombardment, according to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO). The lack of clean drinking water, overcrowding in shelters, and disrupted hygiene due to damaged infrastructure are contributing to the outbreak. Contaminated water supplies, solid waste accumulation, and inadequate sanitation facilities are creating breeding grounds for disease-carrying insects and rodents. The inhalation of poisonous gas from military activity is also causing respiratory diseases. Limited disease surveillance systems and disrupted medical services further hinder monitoring and response efforts.
