US Military Official Asserts Readiness for Space Warfare.

The US is prepared to fight in space if necessary, according to Brig Gen Jesse Morehouse at US Space Command, due to the threats posed by Russia and China. The US has developed anti-satellite technologies to counter these threats, but such demonstrations create vast clouds of debris that put other satellites at risk for decades. Morehouse said the US would continue to develop anti-satellite technologies "not because we want to fight tonight, but because that's the best way to deter conflict from happening". Russia and China are also developing spacecraft capable of anti-satellite operations.
