The traditions of the Zaporizhzhian Cossacks, 17th century warriors known for their fight for freedom and self-governance, are being kept alive on Khortytsia, an island on the Dnipro River in Ukraine. Yuriy Kopishynskyi, a descendant of the Cossacks, runs a horse-riding school and trains people in the Cossack fighting style.
