Spanish Politician Shot in Face: Possible Link to Iran

Spanish police are investigating a possible link to Iran in the attempted assassination of former head of Spain's People's Party in Catalonia, Alejo Vidal-Quadras. While recovering in the hospital, Vidal-Quadras theorized that the gunmen could be connected to Iran, as he had previously faced sanctions from the Iranian foreign ministry due to his association with Iran's opposition-in-exile. However, there is currently no evidence implicating the Iranian government. Two men on a motorcycle are believed to be connected to the attack, and authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and witness accounts to identify the shooter.
