"Spain Seizes Record 9.5 Tons of Cocaine Disguised as Bananas from Ecuador"

Spanish customs agents have seized a record-breaking 9.5 tons of cocaine hidden in a banana shipment from Ecuador. The drugs were discovered in a refrigerated container among 1,080 boxes of bananas. The boxes of cocaine were marked with various logos, indicating the involvement of a European criminal ring. The investigation began in July, and the shipment was destined for Portugal before being distributed throughout Europe. No arrests have been made so far. This seizure surpasses Spain's previous largest cocaine bust of 8.4 tons in 2018, also found in a banana container.
