Rwandan police officer charged with genocide killings.

Fulgence Kayishema, a Rwandan police officer accused of orchestrating the killings of over 2,000 people during the 1994 genocide, has been arrested in South Africa after spending 22 years as a fugitive. Kayishema had assumed a false identity and was captured in a multinational fugitive tracking operation. He is alleged to have organized the killings of more than 2,000 ethnic Tutsi refugees at a Catholic church during the first days of the genocide. The arrest gives hope to survivors that other fugitives still at large will be arrested too.
