"Russian Authorities Return Billions in Seized Cash to Head of Wagner PMC"

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of Wagner Private Military Company (PMC), has been given back RUB10 billion (approx. US$111,313 million) in cash, hundreds of thousands of dollars, and five bars of gold that were confiscated during searches in St Petersburg after his attempted rebellion. The decision to return the money was made on the same day as the searches, despite initial plans to withhold it. Prigozhin was not present during the procedure, and his driver collected the money on his behalf. The authorities in Rostov-on-Don also decided not to recover RUB90 million (approx. US$1 million) from Wagner PMC, which was involved in the armed capture of the city.
