Rescue Operation Frees Kidnapped British Businessman in Ecuador, Multiple Arrests Made

British businessman Colin Armstrong, who was kidnapped in Ecuador, has been freed and is now with the police and authorities in Ecuador. The 78-year-old, who owns the Forbidden Corner visitor attraction in the Yorkshire Dales, was abducted from a farm he owned near Guayaquil. Nine people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. Armstrong's spokesperson expressed delight at his release and praised the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their assistance.
