Kalakshetra Dance Academy Professor Sent to Judicial Custody for Sexual Harassment Charges

Hari Padman, a senior dance teacher at Kalakshetra’s Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, has been sent to judicial custody till April 13 after being charged with sexual harassment and criminal intimidation based on a former student’s complaint. Hari is the only accused person against whom a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered so far. The Kalakshetra Foundation’s Governing Board has given verbal assurance to protesting students that the three other accused would be dismissed, and that Hari Padman would be suspended.
