Dramatic Rescue: British Citizen Freed from Ecuador Kidnappers

British millionaire Colin Armstrong, 78, was rescued by Ecuadorian police after being kidnapped by a gang who demanded protection money. The police released a video showing their cars racing to rescue Armstrong, and later raided a farmhouse, confiscating weapons, explosives, vehicles, and drugs. Armstrong's girlfriend, who was also abducted, was found wearing a fake explosive vest. Police suspect she may have been involved in the kidnapping. Nine suspects have been arrested, including one foreigner. The Los Tiguerones gang, linked to the violent Mexican cartel CJNG, is believed to be responsible for the kidnapping. Armstrong's son and daughter expressed relief at his safe release. Ecuador has seen a rise in violence and drug-related crime in recent years.
