Israeli Strikes Hit Gaza Refugee Camp as Crossing Opens for Foreigners and Wounded

After weeks of siege, dozens of dual passport holders and seriously injured Palestinians were allowed to leave Gaza, while Israeli airstrikes continued to pound a refugee camp. The strikes in the Jabaliya refugee camp near Gaza City resulted in many casualties, including children. As Israeli ground forces advanced towards Gaza City, internet and phone services were cut off, exacerbating the severe humanitarian crisis in the enclave. Amid the deteriorating circumstances, 110 foreign passport holders were permitted to exit Gaza, while Egypt agreed to treat over 80 wounded Palestinians. The war has resulted in a high death toll on both sides, with over 8,700 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis killed. The Israeli military confirmed that nine soldiers have been killed in fighting in northern Gaza.
