Palestinian Islamic Jihad has released a video of two Israeli hostages pleading for their release, as the temporary cease-fire between Hamas and Israel ended and Israel resumed its bombardment of Gaza. The hostages, identified as Gadi Moses and Elad Katzir, urged Israeli leaders to make a prisoner exchange deal and expressed fear of being killed by Israeli bombs. The Israel Defense Forces reported finding about 1,500 tunnel shafts and underground passages in Gaza since the start of the war, accusing Hamas of using civilians as human shields. Forty trucks carrying commercial goods entered Gaza for the first time since the war began, and Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated that Israel is ready for another humanitarian pause and additional aid to enable the release of hostages.
