"IDF Discovers Fortified Mosque and Tunnel in Jenin, Escalating Israel-Palestine Tensions"
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) accused Palestinian gunmen in Jenin of turning a mosque into a fortified hideout, complete with an underground tunnel and weapons cache. Israeli forces gained control of the mosque during a major counterterrorism operation against the Jenin refugee camp. The IDF found two tunnel openings connected to the mosque, filled with explosives, weapons, and military equipment. The operation, the largest in the West Bank in 20 years, targeted the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group and other armed groups. Ten Palestinians were killed and over 100 wounded in airstrikes and clashes with Israeli forces. The IDF believes there were around 300 gunmen in the camp.
