"Multiple Incidents of Pilots Falling Asleep Mid-Flight Raise Concerns"

Two pilots aboard a Batik Air flight from Kendari to Jakarta fell asleep simultaneously, causing the plane to deviate from its route for approximately 28 minutes. The first pilot had requested rest, which was granted, and upon waking up nearly an hour later, offered the same to the second-in-command, who declined but unintentionally fell asleep while still in control of the aircraft. The incident has prompted an investigation into the airline's night flight operations, and the two pilots involved have been temporarily suspended.
