AI experts predict 40% of domestic tasks automated within a decade

About 40% of domestic tasks, including grocery shopping, laundry, and household cleaning, could be automated within the next decade, according to a survey of 65 AI experts from Japan and the UK. However, tasks involving caring for children, pets, and elderly relatives were viewed as less likely to be automated due to social considerations. The experts were instructed to only consider the technical feasibility of automating tasks, but many respondents were unable or unwilling to do so in isolation of societal factors.
