Monkey and Deer: Unlikely Duo Spotted in Japanese Forest

A photograph capturing a rare interaction between a macaque and a deer in a Japanese forest has gone viral after being released by the U.K. Natural History Museum. The image, titled "Forest Rodeo," shows a macaque riding on the back of a deer. While male macaques have been known to cling to female deer and attempt to mate with them, in this case, the macaque was a young female simply enjoying a free ride. The photograph is part of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, with winners to be announced in October.
