Missing American Rescued in Syria, Found Barefoot Near Damascus

Travis Timmerman, an American who went missing after entering Syria from Lebanon on a Christian pilgrimage, has been found in a suburb of Damascus following the fall of President Bashar al-Assad. Timmerman, who was last seen in Budapest, Hungary, had been detained in Syria for several months. His family expressed relief and joy upon learning of his discovery. Timmerman reported being held in isolation but not physically harmed, and he was released when opposition forces took control of Damascus.
