Tropical Storm Tammy: From Caribbean Threat to Potential Hurricane

Tropical Storm Tammy is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it moves west towards the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean, bringing heavy rain, storm surge, and the potential for flash flooding and mudslides. Tropical storm watches are in effect for several island countries, and heavy rainfall is also expected in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other areas. This year's active hurricane season is attributed to abnormally warm ocean temperatures. Hurricane Norma is also being tracked as it approaches Baja California, Mexico.
