Impending Tropical Storm Threatens Florida's Gulf Coast

Tropical Depression 10 is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm on Sunday and potentially become a hurricane by Tuesday. The system is currently located near Cozumel, Mexico, and is projected to move over the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Computer models show the storm tracking over the Florida panhandle, but rain and wind could impact much of the state. The timing for landfall is estimated to be late Tuesday into Wednesday. The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall and tropical storm-force winds to the affected areas.
