"DeSantis Welcomes Evacuated Americans, Criticizes Gaza Coverage and Refugee Acceptance"

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife welcomed nearly 300 Americans who were evacuated from Israel due to the Israel-Hamas war. The flight landed at Tampa International Airport, and additional evacuees landed in Orlando. DeSantis provided resources and supplies to the evacuees and pledged to send aid to Israel. The rescue operation was facilitated by the non-profit organization Project DYNAMO. Major airlines had canceled flights in and out of Tel Aviv after the attack, and the U.S. State Department received requests for departure assistance from over 20,000 U.S. citizens in Israel and Gaza. DeSantis signed an executive order to facilitate the return of Florida residents and supplies from Israel.
