Father Sacrifices Life to Save Son in Tragic Carmel Pond Accident

A man in Carmel, Maine, tragically drowned in Etna Pond after saving his 4-year-old son, who had fallen through the ice. Kevin Howell, 51, managed to get his son out of the water and instructed him to run home for help, but he succumbed to the icy waters before he could be rescued himself. Despite efforts from his wife and law enforcement, Howell's body was recovered by the Maine Warden Service dive team later that day.
