8-Year-Old Sole Survivor as Bus Plunges, Killing 45

A bus carrying worshippers to an Easter festival in South Africa plunged off a bridge in Limpopo, killing 45 people, with an eight-year-old girl as the sole survivor. The bus, transporting passengers from Botswana to the town of Moria, lost control and plunged into a ravine before bursting into flames. Rescue operations faced challenges in identifying bodies burned beyond recognition, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway. South African president Cyril Ramaphosa offered condolences and support to Botswana, while the Easter pilgrimage to Moria resumed for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
