Spotify Explores AI-Generated Playlists with Text Prompts

Spotify is reportedly testing a new feature called "AI Playlist" that would automatically generate playlists based on user prompts. The feature, discovered through code by product designer Chris Messina, could potentially be integrated into Spotify Blend, allowing users to blend their music tastes with an algorithmically generated playlist. Spotify previously experimented with description-based playlists called Niche Mixes, but those were not AI-powered. The streaming service has been actively exploring AI technology, including the release of an AI-powered DJ earlier this year.
