From Hero to Villain: The Fall of a Love Crusader

Sanjoy Sachdev, founder of the Delhi-based Love Commandos, which provided shelter for couples fleeing threats of violence due to defying India's norm of arranged marriage, is now facing allegations of wrongful confinement and extortion from some of the very couples he promised to help. The Love Commandos allegedly pressured couples for money, withheld their personal documents, forced them into labor, and fostered an atmosphere of manipulation and abuse. The criminal trial is ongoing, while other organizations in India provide similar services but do not cover all the services provided by the Love Commandos.
