Trump's Indictment: Comparisons to Nazi Persecution and Rattled Reactions

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted for a third time, this time on four charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The indictment, announced by Special Counsel Jack Smith, accuses Trump of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. Trump likened the indictment to "Nazi persecution" and his campaign characterized it as "political targeting." In addition to the criminal charges, Trump also faces civil lawsuits related to his election loss and the January 6th Capitol assault.
