Transgender Montana lawmaker sues for reinstatement after censure.

Montana Rep. Zooey Zephyr, one of the first openly transgender people elected to the state legislature, has filed a lawsuit for her full reinstatement after being banned from the floor, anteroom, and gallery for chastising GOP colleagues who were supporting a ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth. The lawsuit alleges that the move violated her free speech and expression rights and requests that the court restore her legislative privileges. The American Civil Liberties Union of Montana is representing four constituents who are plaintiffs alongside Zephyr in the case.
