The Fallout from Ron DeSantis' Presidential Campaign Launch

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' Twitter Spaces event to announce his 2024 presidential campaign was marred by technical glitches, but his campaign still managed to raise $8.2 million in the first 24 hours. DeSantis laughed off Donald Trump's mocking nicknames and said that Trump's slew of attacks directed at him shows that the former president knows that he can beat him. DeSantis also floated the idea of pardoning those charged with January 6 offences, from people at the Capitol riot all the way up to Mr Trump, if elected president.
