Conservative media outlets in the United States have been placing blame on President Biden for the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. Critics from the right argue that the Biden administration's decision to transfer $6 billion to Iran, as part of a deal to secure the release of five Americans, allowed Iran to fund Hamas. They also claim that American intelligence failures contributed to the attack by Hamas. While the $6 billion transfer was not U.S. taxpayer money and there is no evidence it was used to finance the attacks, conservative pundits argue that the restrictions on the funds were meaningless. Some conservatives have also linked the violence to broader critiques of liberal policies, including unfounded claims that agents of Hamas are entering the United States through the southern border.
