New Zealand Justice Minister Resigns Amid Car Crash Charges

New Zealand's justice minister, Kiri Allan, has resigned after being charged with "careless use of a motor vehicle and refusing to accompany a police officer" following a car crash. She was also issued an infringement notice for excess breath alcohol. Allan cited personal difficulties and emotional distress as contributing factors to the incident. She is the fourth minister to resign from the Labour government since March. Ginny Andersen will replace her as justice minister.
