"Minnesota Senate Advances Transgender Protections, Conversion Therapy Ban, and Reproductive Freedom Bills"

The Minnesota Senate has passed three bills aimed at protecting people who come to the state for abortion and gender-affirming care, as well as banning conversion therapy for minors. The bills grant legal protection to people who travel to Minnesota for abortions and gender-affirming care and to the providers who treat them. The Senate passed the abortion protection bill 34-29. The “refuge” bills would prevent Minnesota courts or officials from complying with extraditions, arrests or subpoenas related to reproductive health or gender-affirming care that a person receives in Minnesota.
