McCarthy's Ally Urges GOP Critics to End Their Games

Rep. Garret Graves, a top ally of Speaker Kevin McCarthy, revealed that he drafted a motion to oust McCarthy from the Speakership in order to put an end to the constant threats from conservative critics. McCarthy has faced increased pressure from hard-line conservatives, including Rep. Matt Gaetz, who have threatened to remove him from the Speakership if he does not meet their demands on spending. The federal government is set to run out of funds by the end of the week, and GOP leaders are working to pass four full-year government funding bills in an attempt to avert a shutdown. Graves criticized the behavior of those causing problems and warned that they may try to take credit for solving the issues they created.
